The Wolf of Wall Street
The Wolf of Wall Street a movie based on the true story of the life of Jordan Belfort. Jordan is played by Leonardo DiCaprio. His best friend and business partner Donnie Azoff was played by Jonah Hill, who was extremely well casted for his part. Donnie is a quirky guy which seems to fit right in to Jonah Hill's wheelhouse. Jordan came up from nothing to work in the stock-broker business. He always had a desire to be rich. Just when he started to be good at his job working for a big name stock company he was fired. He then decides to build his own company from nothing along with Donnie. As he gets richer and richer Jordan's character starts to seem more like some of the other roles DiCaprio has had. Jordan slowly devolves in to using drugs which allows for some crazy special effects shots. It goes on to see Jordan's business deal, both the legal and the illegal. The movie was directed by Martin Scorsese who has plenty of movies under his belt. With Leonardo DiCaprio also being a producer for the film along with being an actor this film had potential from the start. My biggest objection to the movie is that it is unnecessarily obscene. I'm all for the use of obscenities to help the movie be more complete, but after a point it was in there just to drag in a younger audience that was probably going to see the movie anyway. However I think it is a bit too much I understand that it is hard to find a good balance and some obscenity is definitely needed or the movie wouldn't be nearly as entertaining. I would give the movie 8/10. It was a good movie and it has a nice definitive ending so that there won't be a sequel but left enough open to keep the viewers wondering. All in all it was a good movie.
